Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, Carole Kaufmann has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Far East as is evident in her paintings and drawings which evoke her fascination with people and places around the world. She uses oil, gouache, pencil and transfer mediums, often using Chinese paints and collage materials. Her work is in many private and corporate collections worldwide, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC. Since 1972 she has worked and shown from her New York City studio.
